Privacy Policy

1. File Processing

Each tool is labeled with its current processing location: Runs in your browser, Temporary server processing, or Coming soon. These labels explain whether a selected file stays on your device, is temporarily uploaded to complete a configured backend request, or is not processed yet.

• Tools labeled Runs in your browser process selected files locally and do not upload those selected files to NexKit PDF Tools servers by that workflow.
• Tools labeled Temporary server processing require a configured backend and may upload selected files only to complete the requested conversion, OCR, or processing task.
• The current backend upload handlers write temporary files to a local uploads directory and attempt to remove them after processing or failure.
• NexKit PDF Tools pages describe whether a workflow is browser-local, temporary server processing, or coming soon.
• Some configured backend tools may send file content to an external service needed for the requested task, such as OCR or document conversion, when that backend is enabled.
• Coming soon tools do not currently accept, upload, or process files.

2. Browser Storage and Cookies

Source review found local browser storage for interface language detection and saved watermark presets. Source review did not find an active first-party analytics cookie or a document.cookie write in the PDF Tools frontend. Browser-local files remain in the current browser session unless a tool explicitly saves a local setting such as a preset.

3. Affiliate Links and Commercial Tracking

Some NexKit Tools pages may later include clearly marked affiliate links to relevant third-party services for advanced document workflows. If you click one of those links, NexKit may record a first-party affiliate_click event containing only the site, page path, destination category, partner label, placement label, and server timestamp. NexKit does not store the full destination URL, link text, page content, file names, IP address, or full browser user-agent string in that affiliate event.

4. Logs and Infrastructure

NexKit-hosted OpenResty infrastructure writes access and error logs. Logs may include request metadata such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, referrer, and status code. A specific log retention period was not verified during this review, so NexKit does not publish a fixed retention duration here.

5. Contact Email Data

If you email NexKit, your email address, message content, and any attachments you choose to send are processed so NexKit can read, route, and reply to the request.

6. Third-Party Services

Current browser-local tools may load same-origin static assets such as the PDF.js worker, fonts, or a background-removal model asset. Backend routes in the source can use configured external services for OCR or document conversion when those backend tools are enabled.

7. Sign-In Feature (Retired)

NexKit Tools previously included a sign-in feature. This feature has been retired and its public entry points have been removed from the site - there is no visible sign-in option anywhere on this site today. This section describes it for transparency about what it was and what data it involved while it was reachable.

When reachable, sign-in was provided by Firebase Authentication (a Google Cloud service) using either a Google account or an email address and password. Signing in created or updated a profile record that could contain your email address, display name, profile photo URL, a unique account identifier (uid), an account role, and a plan label (subscription). This data was stored in Firebase Firestore, a Google Cloud database.

There is no payment system and no paid subscription on this site. There is no account-based limit on how many times you can use a tool. A "free" or "pro" plan label exists in the underlying data structure but has no effect on what you can do with this site's tools.

This site does not claim that no historical account data exists. If you signed in before this feature was retired, a profile record may still exist. To ask what data is stored for your account, or to request its deletion, email [email protected]. This is currently a manual, email-based process - NexKit Tools does not offer a self-service "delete my account" button or an automated data-export tool.

If you have only used the browser-based PDF and image tools directly, this section does not apply to you - those tools do not require signing in and do not send your files to this account system.
